A Short History of the French Café

The café has been part of French life for centuries. It was a place to read the paper, to argue about politics, to write, to fall in love, or simply to sit and watch the street go by. Nobody was in a hurry, and nobody was asked to leave.

That is the spirit we wanted to bring to Chiang Mai: a room with good light, a chair you can stay in, and a cup that is never rushed. The French call it flâner, to wander without a plan. We call it a good morning.

So bring a book or a friend, or bring nothing at all. The window seat is yours for as long as you like.
